There is the misconception that most cases of breast cancer occur in those that have a family history. What is true is that those with a family history have a higher chance of developing breast cancer. Therefore, breast cancer awareness is important for ALL women! Clinical breast examinations by your provider is recommended from age 25. Mammograms are recommended every 1-2 years from age 40, and every year from age 50.
